Bio
Michael McClimon is a native of Greer, South Carolina, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in music theory at Indiana University where he serves as an Associate Instructor for the theory department. He earned an M.M. in music theory from Indiana University in 2010 and a B.M. in music theory from Furman University in 2008, where he also studied clarinet, jazz piano, and arranging. Michael currently serves as the editor of the Indiana Theory Review and the Digital Projects Specialist for the Center for the Music History of Music Theory and Literature. His current research interests include Schenkerian theory and analysis, jazz analysis (especially the music of Thelonious Monk), and rhythm and meter, among other things. Michael and his wife Carolyn currently live in Bloomington, Indiana with their two cats, Olivia and Matilda.
